No. Licensed Medicare agents are paid by the insurance carrier, and by law the plan's premium is the same whether you enroll through an agent, directly with the carrier, or on Medicare.gov. There is no markup for using an agent.

Most increases in this market are not about you. Carriers have repriced for higher repair and rebuild costs, more severe weather losses, and vehicle theft trends. Because carriers absorb those pressures at different speeds, the company that was cheapest three years ago is often no longer cheapest today — which is the entire reason shopping periodically pays off.

Commonly between $10,000 and $25,000, which is sized around a funeral, burial or cremation, and a cushion for remaining bills. The National Funeral Directors Association tracks median funeral costs in the five-figure range nationally, and the Pacific Northwest runs at or above that. Your agent can help you size it against what your family would actually face rather than against a sales target.

In Washington, registering a contracting business with L&I requires general liability coverage and a surety bond at statutory minimums, and workers' compensation comes through the state fund once you have employees. In Oregon, CCB licensing has its own liability and bond requirements. The minimums keep you licensed; they are frequently well below what a general contractor's contract will demand of you, which is the gap most subs discover the hard way.

You can find Nebraska's through the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' directory of state insurance departments. Use it to verify any agent's licence before you share personal details — with us or with anyone else.

They do the shopping
That agent brings you real numbers and explains the tradeoffs. If your current coverage is already the best fit, a good agent tells you so.
No. Agent commissions are paid by the carrier out of the same premium you would pay going direct, in Nebraska as everywhere else. There is no markup for using an agent, and no fee from us.
Every state runs a licence lookup through its department of insurance, and you can also check the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' consumer portal. Any legitimate agent will give you their licence number without hesitating — if someone won't, that is your answer.
Insurance is regulated state by state and priced far more locally than that. Two households on the same street can price differently on claims history, construction, credit-based insurance scores where permitted, and the specific carriers writing in that area. That is why comparing more than one carrier matters more than any single quote.
